School Office Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive School Office Administrator to oversee the daily administrative operations of our Alternative Provision. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the school office, supporting staff, students, and parents. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and unique learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all front desk activities, including greeting visitors, answering calls, and directing enquiries efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, enrolments, and other administrative data.

  • Assist with the organisation of school events, meetings, and appointments.

  • Support teachers with administrative tasks related to lesson planning and resource management.

  • Handle correspondence with parents and external organisations professionally and promptly.

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times.

  • Coordinate with teaching staff to facilitate smooth communication between students, parents, and staff members.

  • Assist in maintaining school policies and procedures related to administration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an administrative role within an educational setting is preferred.

  • Knowledge of teaching practices or experience in a teaching environment is advantageous.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional manner.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and school management software programmes such as Arbor.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment.

  • A friendly demeanour with a commitment to supporting a positive school community.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a an educational setting. The School Office Administrator will be instrumental in fostering an efficient administrative framework that supports the school's educational mission.

Pay

  • Gross Annual Salary: £18,720 per annum

  • Salary paid monthly across 12 months

  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

  • Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)

  • This would be on a PAYE basis
