Bricklaying tutor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bricklaying Tutor to join our team. Working primarily at our Thurston site amongst our other specialist facilitators. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding in theory and practice in the Bricklaying trade and have a commitment to educating children and possess the ability to communicate effectively with students of varying abilities and SEND. Sessions take place during school hours, and happen between 3–5 times per week, during term-time only.

Duties

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students, focusing on their individual learning needs and your specialism.

  • Develop and implement customised lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.

  • Assist students in understanding complex concepts and improve their academic performance regarding your specialism.

  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.

  • Communicate regularly with the lead coordinator regarding student progress, attendance and areas for improvement.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt teaching methods as necessary.

  • Collaborate with other educators and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for students with special educational needs.

Requirements

  • Have a great depth of understanding in theory and practice of the Bricklaying industry is essential.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and their families.

  • Knowledge or experience in special education practices is highly desirable.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educating children.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field would be advantageous.

  • Understands safeguarding and professional boundaries

  • Can deliver both practical and theory-based learning in an accessible way
