Programme overview

The ReConnect Vocational Learning (VL) Programme offers a dynamic and practical curriculum designed to reflect real-world industry standards and meet national education benchmarks. Delivered by qualified lecturers with extensive experience in vocational education, the programme introduces learners to multiple trades and professional disciplines within a high-quality, structured environment.

Programme Modules

Each module includes embedded English and Maths skills and is mapped to national curriculum and Functional Skills standards:

  1. AQA Health and Safety in Construction (Level 1)

    • RIDDOR, Risk Assessment, and safety protocols.

  2. AQA Bricklaying

    • Construct a pyramid, return corner, and T-junction wall.

  3. AQA Developing Carpentry Skills (Level 1)

    • Joinery principles and first/second fix carpentry.

  4. AQA Introduction to Tiling

    • Surface prep, cutting, layout, and finishing.

  5. AQA Basic Plumbing Skills

    • Install sinks, baths, and perform live water testing.

  6. AQA Introduction to Plastering

    • Wall preparation and full surface plastering.

  7. AQA Food Development: Hospitality & Catering

    • Plan and prepare meals; evaluate through consumer feedback.

  8. AQA Basic Hair & Beauty

    • Hairdressing, skincare, and beauty basics delivered with real model assessments.

Modules are differentiated and adaptable to learners' interests and needs. Additional modules may be added based on demand and AQA availability.

Sidney Hammond – Vocational Coordinator
A qualified vocational teacher with 15+ years of experience, including work as a Regional Quality Manager overseeing Ofsted inspections across over ten UK prisons. Sidney brings industry credibility, leadership in curriculum design, and a passion for creating life-changing vocational experiences.

Cost & Booking

  • £130 per student per day

  • 1-Year Contract with Interchangeable Placements (min. 1 day per week per student)

  • Shuttle transport, PPE, and lunch included

Application process

There are limited places on the ReConnect VL Programme so please apply early to avoid disappointment. If you are unsuccessful getting the required number of places on the programme we have a waiting list and you will be notified as soon as places become available.
